(Columbus, Ohio, 10 June 2013) Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) and Thieme Publishing Group have announced that hundreds of thousands of experimental procedures for chemical reactions from two prestigious Thieme organic chemistry journals will soon be available in SciFinder®, the choice for chemistry researchTM.
Experimental procedures from the high-impact Thieme journals SYNLETT and SYNTHESIS from 1967 to the present are being added to the CAS databases for delivery in SciFinder.
”SYNTHESIS and SYNLETT are our flagship journals for synthetic chemists,” said Guido F. Herrmann, managing director Thieme Chemistry. “We are delighted that all scientists around the world using SciFinder will now benefit from convenient access to the synthetic methods from these vital publications.”
CAS provides millions of experimental procedures for reactions from other sources including English-language translations from German and Japanese patents, the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry’s, Chinese Journal of Organic Chemistry and Acta Chimica Sinica, hundreds of Springer journals and all ACS Publications journals in addition to English-language patents from the United States Patent and Trademark Office, European Patent Office, and the World Intellectual Property Organization (2000 to the present).
“Whether finding useful reactions or identifying the most relevant publications, experimental procedures are critical to synthetic research,” said Christine McCue, CAS vice president of marketing. “CAS is pleased to collaborate with Thieme to help scientists identify the procedures and the journal articles that best align with their research needs.” More here: SciFinder® and STN® and Thieme.
