(12 Mar 2025) Prime Minister Hun Manet has called on local authorities to set up mobile libraries to promote reading across Cambodia.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony of Vanda Institute yesterday, Mr. Hun Manet also urged provincial administrations to create public spaces, especially in urban areas and parks, in each province where a mobile library can operate.
He also called on the authorities to support the mobile library initiative by Ouk Vanday who is travelling around the country in his VW Caravanette, which carries 2,500 books.
After the mobile library project by Vanday reached several provinces, Mr. Hun Manet called for authorities to support similar initiatives and localize the project in each province.
