(7 Aug 2025) Lo Chandy, a librarian in Pursat province’s floating villages, is on a mission with NGO Sipar Cambodia to bring books to children who have never had access to a real library.
Chandy, 24, who is also the library educator, said the first library in these Bakan district villages has created an interest in reading among young and old people since it opened in May.
The library contains about 900 books and educational materials suitable for people of all ages but particularly young children. It travels to different villages on weekdays and mostly makes stops at primary schools, where there are more readers.
