(12 Aug 2026) On the 11th [of August], the 2026 World Conference of National Library Directors (CDNL) is being held at Signiel Busan in Haeundae-gu, Busan. This conference, attended by national library directors from over 40 countries, discusses the role of national libraries in the AI era, creating a trustworthy information environment, the public responsibilities of national libraries, and future cooperation directions.
The National Library of Korea proposed the “Busan Declaration” at the “2026 National Library Directors Conference (CDNL)” held at Signiel in Busan on the 11th, outlining 13 shared principles that global national libraries should uphold in the AI era. These include responsible and ethical AI use, protection of trustworthy knowledge heritage, and other key guidelines.
