(17 October 2013) ICT training for women, financial literacy workshops, health classes, programs for child development — these are all programs taking place in Asia today to help promote economic and social development. Although the activities may seem very different, they can all be found in one kind of institution: a public library.
Teams from twelve countries throughout Asia and Europe are coming to the Beyond Access event from October 20 to 23 in Bali, Indonesia to build partnerships and exchange ideas on how libraries can drive development. The event will gather librarians, development professionals, and government and community partners to share their experiences and generate new ideas on the ways libraries can improve their communities.
