(17 Jul 2024) Preserving the digital cultural heritage of Aotearoa New Zealand means taking the long view: thinking about how old, current, and new generations of technology are used to create, and how technologies now and in the future will be used to experience the content created by, for, and about New Zealanders. The pace and frequency of these technological evolutions also require those who work in digital preservation to step back and take stock: to review the work we have done, and to anticipate how and where we could better meet the needs and expectations of our users.
