(26 June 2015) The library content distributor expands a pilot program with collectionHQ, the data analytics service for public libraries, to help librarians make acquisitions geared to patron demand.
Called “evidence-based selection planning” (ESP) the program integrates collectionHQ’s analytics tools with Baker & Taylor’s Title Source 360 ordering platform.
“Using powerful circulation-based data analytics,” a press release explains, “ESP identifies top titles based upon past circulation by author, subject and other metadata. The service offers libraries a rational, effective and efficient approach to predicting the success of titles, authors or subjects before they hit the shelf and monitors budgets through the use of collectionHQ spending plans.”
