(15 Jun 2022) The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the oldest engineering society in the US, and Morressier, the leading platform for early-stage research, today announced a new partnership to create a Conference Proceedings Video Collection, which expands ASCE’s event offerings beyond traditional print proceedings papers and will give users a multimedia conference experience.
The most recently conducted research in a given discipline is often presented during annual events and conferences, and maximizing that content accelerates the impact on the industry.
“We are excited about our new Video Collection, which will enhance our existing conference proceedings collection,” says Dana Compton, ASCE Publisher and managing director. “Session recordings specific to an ASCE proceedings paper published in the ASCE Library will be linked together for ease of use from either platform allowing users to benefit from both media and access the latest engineering research to advance the civil engineering profession.”
The ASCE Video Collection will launch on the Morressier platform in early January 2023 and include over 1,500 videos, with an anticipated average of 600 new videos per year.
In an increasingly digital world, the partnership enables ASCE to respond to the changing nature of content consumption and conference attendance. Users will be able to visually engage with content they may have missed, or to return to content they saw at an event. Video solutions provided by the Morressier platform create opportunities to monetize conference content and strengthen engagement with new audiences.
