Every year EDUCAUSE releases a list of the top ten issues that are impacting information technology (IT) in higher education institutions. Although the list focuses on college and university IT and IT leadership, the EDUCUASE Top 10 list is highly relevant to everyone working throughout higher education – including librarians and other library leaders. The Top 10 can also be useful for those working in all types of libraries as well as other types of organizations. An overview of the 2026 EDUCAUSE Top 10 list is provided followed by a discussion on how each of the trends and issues are relevant to libraries.
