(3 November 2016) The American Chemical Society Publications Symposium Innovation in Molecular Science was successfully held at the Friendship Hotel in Beijing on 23-25 Octoober 2016. The conference was organized by the American Chemical Society (ACS) and the Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of Chemistry (ICCAS) , and co-organized by iGroup China.
This symposium is one of a series of academic activities for the 60th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Institute of Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. More than 500 experts and scholars from China, the United States, Britain, Canada, Switzerland, Japan, Singapore, Korea, Pakistan, Thailand, Tanzania, Poland, Russia and other countries participated in the symposium and held sessions on functional molecular materials, molecular catalysis and selective synthesis, supra molecular self-assembly, the chemistry-biology interface, and sustainable chemistry and energy.
Brian Crawford, President of ACS Publishing Group and Deqing Zhang, Director of the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences delivered the opening remarks. A total of 24 conference reports, 17 oral presentations and 103 posters were set up.
Dr. Deqing Zhang, Director of the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Dr. Feng Chen, Assistant President of ACS Publishing, at the Closing Ceremony on behalf of the two sides, thanked everyone for participating in the symposium and hoped that this meeting will further promote exchange and cooperation and promote the prosperity of molecular science.
