(10 June 2015, Sunnyvale, CA) Boopsie, Inc., the leading mobile platform-as-a-service provider for libraries worldwide, continues to enhance its user-friendly mobile apps with Ratings and Reviews, the newest addition to its mobile platform.
Along with accessing high quality resources on the user-friendly Boopsie app interface, users can now leave a 1-5 star rating and review for any title in their library’s catalog. Reviews can be posted anonymously or through an alias. Users are also able to view ratings and reviews made by other users through their libraries’ Boopsie apps. This feature will leverage Boopsie’s network of 400,000 unique app users per month to increase individual library’s engagement with users.
“Users are more likely to take advantage of library services if they mimic those that they voluntarily choose to use in their free time. Case in point: 64% of library users say that they’re likely to use recommendation functionality,” says Tony Medrano, Boopsie’s CEO. “By offering Ratings and Reviews, we’re making the library’s services recognizable to these digital users and more accessible to the diverse communities that each library serves.”
“Working with Boopsie means that we can show our users that the library isn’t an outdated brick and mortar warehouse of books, but a growing, evolving part of the digital community,” said Steve Sloan, Administrative Librarian at Sunnyvale Public Library. “We look forward to seeing what else Boopsie has in store for our customized app.”
Ratings and Reviews is now live with 100 beta customers, including Charlotte Mecklenburg Library, Santa Clara County Libraries, and Sunnyvale Library. All Boopsie apps will be enhanced with the feature by August 2015. Libraries interested in adding Ratings and Reviews before August can contact Boopsie for an expedited roll out of the feature.
