(17 July 2014) Over seven years, BRAC University in Bangladesh carried out a number of projects focused on making significant improvements to university library. These improvements included: developing an institutional repository; an integrated library system and a library resource portal. Through these projects, the BRAC University library aimed to develop a 21st Century world-class knowledge resource centre that would provide innovative services and collections to the university community.
Hasina Afroz, University Librarian at BRAC University, outlines the changes that were made and the software they used. As a part of the developments, BRAC University conducted training workshops aimed at building the capacity of other universities to implement and use similar tools.
