The National Diet Library (NDL) Japan, has invited Dr. Peter Loewe, Head of Development, German National Library of Science and Technology (TIB), to an international symposium on 5 February at the NDL, Tokyo. Dr. Loewe will give a lecture on the current status of research data management in the TIB and Germany.
The NDL has also asked Dr. Masaru Kitsuregawa (Director General, National Institute of Informatics; Professor, Institute of Industrial Science, The University of Tokyo) and Dr. Yasuhiro Murayama (Director of the Integrated Science Data System Research Laboratory, National Institute of Information and Communications Technology; Visiting professor, Research Institute for Sustainable Humanosphere, Kyoto University) to participate in the symposium and discuss what libraries should do based on consideration of the status and future of research data management for academic infrastructure. In addition, experiences of research data management in Japan will be introduced.
