(3 Jun 2026) CAS, a division of the American Chemical Society specializing in scientific knowledge management, has announced CAS Connections, a new integration framework designed to embed the CAS Content Collection™ and CAS Newton℠, its recently launched agentic AI, directly into widely used R&D workflow tools. Initial collaborations include Albert Invent, Sapio Sciences, Inductive Bio, Scilligence, and Wolfram Research, enabling researchers to access trusted scientific information within the platforms where discovery takes place.
CAS Connections enhances digital research environments by incorporating more than 150 years of CAS‑curated scientific knowledge alongside the conversational intelligence of CAS Newton. Integrated access to verified scientific information is intended to increase confidence in AI‑generated answers and streamline research workflows.
Tim Wahlberg, Interim President of CAS, explained that scientists evaluating new compounds would no longer need to leave their platforms to search for prior art, safety data, or synthesis routes. He noted that integrations with partner platforms extend the value of CAS within digital R&D workflows by embedding authoritative scientific knowledge directly into existing tools.
