(23 Feb 2026) iGroup (Asia Pacific) Limited, the region’s leading academic information distributor, is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with Taiwan-based enterprise generative AI platform provider MaiAgent (Smai Intelligence). Under this agreement, iGroup will serve as the primary distribution partner for MaiAgent’s AI Agent platform across 18 Asia-Pacific markets, including Thailand, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Myanmar, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Mongolia, and Bhutan. The collaboration will officially take effect in February 2026, targeting universities, academic research institutions, and government research agencies.
MaiAgent’s platform is built on proprietary Agentic RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) technology, which ensures responses are grounded in authentic institutional documents rather than purely generative content. For high-accuracy scenarios such as citations, data references, or policy queries, the platform employs structured templates to minimize misinformation risks. It also integrates seamlessly with library management systems (ILS), institutional repositories (IR), and research databases, supporting natural language queries.
The partnership has already shown tangible progress in Thailand, where iGroup successfully introduced MaiAgent to leading institutions such as Chulalongkorn University, the Asian Institute of Technology, and Suan Dusit University, highlighting strong demand for AI-driven academic research and intelligent literature search.
Four Core Use Cases
- Smart Literature Search – AI recommends relevant papers and summarizes findings based on natural language queries.
- Research Assistance Q&A – AI identifies key passages and citations to accelerate literature review.
- Library Smart Services – 24/7 AI answers common queries, freeing staff for higher-value tasks.
- Institutional Knowledge Base – Structures scattered research outputs into AI-accessible repositories.
Through this collaboration, iGroup and MaiAgent aim to transform libraries from traditional information repositories into intelligent research hubs, enabling researchers to leverage AI-driven agents and tools for faster, smarter, and more efficient research.
