With over 56,000 reading programmes held in 2024 alone, the Government renews its commitment to becoming a reading nation by 2030
(5 Oct 2025) FAR from becoming relics of the past, public libraries are being transformed into dynamic, digital-age learning hubs — part of a nationwide mission to build a reading nation by 2030.

But efforts are already under way to reinvigorate the library experience through interactive programming, engaging digital technologies and more stimulating learning environments.
