(15 May 2024) The ARDC is pleased to announce the release of a National Persistent Identifier (PID) Roadmap website to support the implementation of the 2024 Australian National Persistent Identifier (PID) Strategy, launched in February this year by the ARDC.
The Strategy is a coordinated, comprehensive and collaborative approach to accelerate Australian research and innovation through the universal use of connected Persistent Identifiers (PIDs). Guided by a National PID Strategy Taskforce of key sector stakeholders, the Strategy was developed through extensive consultation with the research sector, including national workshops, working groups, webinars and an open call for individual and group submissions.
The implementation of the National PID Strategy is being supported through the new National PID Strategy Roadmap website. The website contains information that will assist the sector in implementing the Strategy, including guidance on ‘priority PIDs’ and principles, a template to create a Stakeholder Action Plan and examples of these, and the beginnings of a National Collaborative Roadmap that stitches these Plans together. A Strategic Advisory Group has been formed to guide the process and comprises senior stakeholders from the Australian research sector.
Roadmap development will be accelerated through Stakeholder Action Groups that will develop and collaborate on capability maturity models and action plans that advance the PIDs Strategy.
