Provide expertise in acquiring print books and e-books into the Libraries’ collections.
As the primary liaison with vendors regarding print resources, responsible for negotiating licenses, ordering, and managing access to electronic resources.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages the life cycle processes for library resources and serves as the expert resource for issues related to these processes within the Department and throughout the Libraries.
- Duties include working with collection development in identifying library resources for consideration, establishing product trials for evaluation, managing license and contract terms related to resources, and collaborating with collection development in the negotiation of resources.
- Works closely with Cataloging and Metadata Services and management issues and also interacts with publishers, vendors and aggregators to acquire, establish and maintain access to library resources.
- Deals with updating and maintaining links to e-books resources through the Library System Alma and other resources as well as resolving complex problems related to orders, renewals, and access.
