(Adelaide, Australia 23 July 2013) Ex Libris Group®, a world leader in the provision of library automation solutions, has announced that RMIT University is in production with the Alma library management service from Ex Libris. In tandem with Ex Libris Primo®, which RMIT implemented in 2012, Alma has replaced multiple systems, including the Library’s Voyager ILS.

Cloud solutions just work!” commented Stephen Gillespie, associate director, library resources at RMIT University Library. “Alma will make our staff members’ workflows simpler and more efficient, thereby freeing up time for tasks that support our students’ and faculty’s academic objectives.”
The largest institution of higher education in Australia, RMIT was keen to stay at the forefront of innovation in the library automation sphere, having experienced the benefits of a single search interface via Primo. “We saw how Primo helped our large user community quickly find comprehensive, relevant materials,” continued Mr. Gillespie. “We wanted to harness the same approach—a unified technological framework for all library collections and formats—to transform our resource management and overall operations.”
