Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and the related spread of life-threatening misinformation, the UN is committed to disseminating the reliable, scientific resources crucial to ending this human tragedy and global health emergency. In an ongoing initiative, the World Health Organization, the UN’s specialized agency for international public health, is working closely with Member States, global experts and partners to gather and develop scientific knowledge. Noting the consequences of this crisis for the new generation of inequalities, the report draws from a human development perspective to formulate potential responses and evaluate measures needed to build back better.
