Skillsoft’s learning experience platform provides a single, central access point for enterprise-wide learning
(4 Sep 2019) Responding to strong customer demand, Skillsoft, a global leader in corporate learning, today announced that its award-winning intelligent learning experience platform, Percipio, hosts custom content. This significant milestone comes as organizations seek one central access point for custom, off-the-shelf and linked public content.
Hosting custom content on Percipio furthers Skillsoft’s commitment to delivering highly relevant and personalized learning experiences. Skillsoft is giving organizations 5GB of complimentary hosting space as part of its commitment to offering more ways to use Percipio for enterprise-wide learning. Completely self-service, learning program administrators can directly upload, manage and publish standards-based and single file content on their own, without the need to engage Skillsoft’s Professional Services.
‘Delivering a learning experience that’s tailored to the specific needs of professionals inside an organization is critical to employee engagement and a successful corporate learning strategy,’ said Jim Lundy, founder and CEO, Aragon Research. ‘Providers such as Skillsoft, with its Percipio platform that enables the seamless delivery of custom, off-the-shelf and linked public content, are empowering organizations to drive learner engagement and simplify the administrative burden.’
Percipio’s ability to host and deliver custom content is made possible by Skillsoft’s partnership with Rustici Software. Rustici Engine provides a turnkey solution for handling the delivery and tracking of standards-based learning assets. By leveraging Rustici Engine, Percipio can now support SCORM and AICC eLearning standards with a best-in-class, standards-based content player, allowing customers to deliver their own content to learners and enjoy a consistent and reliable learning experience.
‘At Rustici Software, we are passionate about eLearning standards and helping customers realize the benefits of adding standards support in their products. We are excited to provide support to the Percipio platform to handle various eLearning standards, enabling Skillsoft customers to deploy self-service custom content through Percipio,’ said TJ Seabrooks, CEO, Rustici Software.
Additional Percipio updates with this release include:
- Enhanced manager and administrator features for custom content: Custom and proprietary content can be assigned to employees and measured in a variety of reports and dashboards to determine usage.
- Improved learning accessibility: Updates help ensure people with disabilities and users of assistive technologies can utilize Skillsoft content and Percipio functionality. New accessibility features allow learners to navigate and read via a keyboard and assistive technology. As a result, Percipio now conforms to Section 508 and WCAG 2.0 accessibility standards, with exceptions noted in its VPAT (voluntary product accessibility template).
- Flexible compliance tool with custom content capabilities: Skillsoft Certitude, a policy management, attestation and assessment tool, has now launched on the Percipio learning platform and provides organizations with another opportunity to create custom content with scoring capabilities. Additionally, an enhanced mobile experience was released providing learners with anywhere, anytime access to compliance courses featuring seamless playback and newly developed interactive exercises.
- LiveEvents now available on-demand: Skillsoft’s exclusive series of interactive Live Events webcasts hosted by nationally recognized academics and best-selling authors are now available on Percipio.
‘Skillsoft recognizes the business value of delivering hyper-personalized learning, particularly in today’s business environment where access to bespoke content is critical to enhancing the employee experience,’ said Apratim Purakayastha, chief technology officer, Skillsoft. ‘With Percipio’s ability to now host custom content as well as off-the-shelf and linked content, the learning experience platform is now a ‘front door’ for access to enterprise-wide learning.’
