Business libraries in Asia had a busy 2012 according to the Annual Review of The Asia-pacific Business School Librarians’ Group, APBSLG.
Among the highlights were Macquarie University Library’s Automatic Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) which is the first of its kind in Australia. It provides high-density storage serviced by robotic cranes and can hold up to 1.8 million Library items. Annual greenhouse gas emissions reportedly reduced by over 800 tonnes per year.
The Vikram Sarabhai Library, IIM,A migrated its ILS to Koha, an Open Source software, launching the new system on 1 November 2012.
At the Singapore Institute of Management, Phase 1 of the M360 Management Portal was finalized for launch in Q1 2013. M360 is a collaborative project driven by the library and a platform to offer a comprehensive repository of relevant management and leadership knowledge with emphasis on Asiancentric practices. The portal also profiles leading management and leadership viewpoints from SIM undertakings such as management surveys, topical research, case studies, and interviews with top executives from across the region.
