(22 July 2016) Under the leadership of the University Librarian, the Associate Librarian (Digital Development & Services) plays a key role in the development of the Library’s digital strategy and technology in support of the University’s teaching, learning and research activities.
The appointee will be required to:
(a) implement new technologies and tools to ensure efficient access to Library’s scholarly collections and the delivery of digital Library services;
(b) lead the development of Library’s online services and digital projects, and manage the provision of IT facilities in the Library with user support service;
(c) innovate services and apply new technologies to facilitate the use of multimedia resources and equipment through the Media Services Section of the Library;
(d) manage and develop digital innovation space in the Multimedia Commons of the Library, which includes a recording studio for audio and visual projects, digital design workstations with specialized hardware and software, 3D printing services, etc.;
(e) develop strategies to evaluate the evolving technology needs of users, and work with the Library staff to enhance the Library’s digital services and space;
(f) foster partnerships with faculties, campus partners, other institutions and stakeholders to enhance digital library services;
(g) act as a member of the Library Management Team to contribute actively to resolve critical policy and service issues affecting all functional areas in the Library; and
(h) perform any other duties as assigned by the University Librarian or his/her delegates.
