(16 Jan 2024) SMU Libraries, together with SMU Academy will be hosting the second intake of the Emerging Library Leaders’ Summer School for Asia-Pacific (ELLSSA) to be held between 8 – 12 July 2024 in Singapore (Watch the successful inaugural intake here). The programme is now open for registration.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
The programme is targeted at early to mid-career librarians and/ or librarians nominated by their institutions as having high potential.
WHAT ARE THE COURSE FEES?
The course fees are Singapore Dollars 1,000 (includes 9% GST). This covers full tuition fees, course material, meals listed in the programme and transport costs for library visits.
WHAT ARE THE LEARNING OBJECTIVES?
The objective of the programme is to share knowledge, provide insights and learn with other librarians to embrace the digital transformation of their libraries.
Instructional methods will include lectures, group work, case studies and discussions, debates, and library visits. Participants benefit from a mentoring programme where they will be assigned a mentor.
By the end of the programme, participants will be able to:
- Identify trends in the digital transformation of libraries
- Acquire skills in developing digital transformation strategies
- Develop an action plan to apply best practices within institutional contexts
- Participate in a mentoring programme
WHAT IS THE CLASS SIZE?
This is a bespoke programme for 25 participants. Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis.
ARE THERE ANY SCHOLARSHIPS?
Singapore Management University Libraries, with generous sponsorship by Taylor and Francis, is offering five (5) ‘Named Scholarships’ to attend the Summer School in Singapore, between 8 – 12 July 2024.
Five awardees will be selected from the Asia-Pacific.
Each sponsorship covers tuition fees, course material, meals listed in the programme and transport costs for library visits.
The sponsorship does not cover airfare, accommodation and other personal costs which are at your own expense.
