Major international associations support immediate open access to research articles

(14 May 2014) Several organizations have committed to the principle that access to information advances discovery, accelerates innovation and improves education. They endorse the policies and practices that enable open access – immediate, barrier free access to and reuse of scholarly articles. They also believe that eliminating embargo periods should be included in open access policies.

The signatories to this statement on the COAR website include EIFL, LIBER and the National Science Library of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
