World class library inaugurated in NIT Silchar

In Assam a new world class library, the ‘Bharat Ratn Dr A P J Abdul Kalam Learning Resource Centre’ in the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Silchar was inaugurated today.

The library is established with the help of the University of Illinois, USA.

The library is one of a kind in the entire north-eastern region of India and is equipped with modern technology and infrastructure. NIT Silchar has invested approximately 28 crore rupees [US$5.2 million] to create the library with an 80 thousand square feet carpeted area.
